Doberman Pinscher and Wobblers Syndrome

This is our first doberman pinscher, her name is Diablo.  She is AKC registered (as all my dobies are).  We got her for our 3rd anniversary (a gift to each other).  She is 9 years and almost 5 months old.  About two years ago we discovered that she has something called Wobbler's Syndrome.  It is a very, very sad disease.  It effects the spine, which in turn effects the limbs of the animal.

Now when you see an extremely strong Doberman start to fall down for, what seems like, no reason it does a number on you.  I have seen my beautiful Diablo fall, trip over her own feet, get knocked down by another dog/s.  It is heartbreaking, I miss my gallon of water toting, tug-of-war loving, obedience dog.  My husband and I have decided that the minute she is in pain we will not be selfish and keep her here.

I took her through many obedience classes (more than she really needed).  We taught and were examples for obedience classes.  She was so well behaved that she was a Pet Therapy Dog.  We went around to hospitals and nursing homes to visit.  It was a wonderful experience.  Diablo has been a very wonderful example of what the Doberman Pinscher breed is all about.

Our Salmon Patty recipe

Ok, So I'm going to show my inexperience just a bit here.  A while back I called my mom for her recipe for salmon patties.  We followed that recipe and they were great.  But I didn't write it down,  so when we went to make some more last night we did something a bit different.  My husband was so happy with them he told me to share on here.  So here goes:

              Salmon Patties

2 (14 1/4 oz) cans salmon
1 cup of italian flavored bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (more if you like onion, we do).
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. mustard

Mash all together, then form patties.  Dip in flour.  Fry in hot oil 5-7 minutes per side, or until nice and brown and crispy.  Makes 6-8 patties.

We loved how these turned out.  I really hope if you like salmon patties that you will try this.  I normally serve mac-n-cheese and peas with it.  YUMMY!!

Scrappy Jak crafts.

So I am a member of a page on fb called Scrappy Jak.  You will probably see that a lot of my posts revolve around the card crafting from that.  Today I would like to share the cards I made for the 4th of July.  I recently bought a Cricut, however for these I just used some fun stickers.  Once I get the hang of this blogging thing, I will post more info about the products that I use.  So bear with me please :).  Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog.  I hope everyone has a beautiful day.

Starting my new blog.

Good afternoon to everyone.  I am just getting started with my blog, as you can see.  I am pretty sure I will not be posting every day.  When I do post it will be random things.  You will see all three of my doberman pinschers, my miniature pinscher and our two cats.  I will also post things that I have made, or just things that I have an opinion on.  So Welcome to my new blog and I hope you all enjoy!  These are my boys:  Murphy (3 yrs) on the left and Guinness (6 yrs).  Guinness is Murphys father.
