Lucky Luciano

This is Lucky Luciano.  He earned this name because of how he came to live with us.  On boxing day (day after Christmas) I was in my backyard with my dogs, when all of a sudden Diablo (see earlier post) was on point, in the corner of the yard.  I realized what she was looking at, so I called all the dogs in the house.  I told my husband there was a cat in our back yard.  I went back out and checked it out.  I come in and told my hubby it was actually a kitten and that I thought it was feral.  So, he gets his welding gloves and a small animal carrier, we go out and put the kitten in the carrier.  Hubby decides it is to cold for the kitten to stay outside, in the laundry room it goes.  Poor little fella just cried and cried.  So we put together a litter box, some food, and water in the guest bathroom.  Through out the evening we go in a check on him, he avoids us at all costs.

The next morning hubby leaves for work and I go in to check on the kitten.  He is more social at this point.  I pick him up and when I do that's when I see it.  It was an enormous bulge on his lower abdomen.  I call hubby, he says call the vet.  I take the kitten to the vet and find out that he is about 10 weeks old and that bulge (the size of a golf ball) is a hernia.  So the vet says surgery, which may or may not work because he is so young.  The skin is very thin at that stage in life.  We opt to get him the surgery, he also gets neutered at the same time.  So at this point we have a new kitten that I didn't want.  A short time later we find out that he has a dislocated hip also.

Obviously someone abused this poor little guy.  I can NOT fathom what someone was thinking when they hurt this poor little man.  At this point we need a name for him.  We didn't want anything common...lol.  However, the more we thought about it, the more Lucky just fit him.  So he became Lucky Luciano.

I hope you enjoyed learning about the beginning of Luckys' life :)  He is such a sweet cat.

Scrappy Jak Crafts

Hello everyone!  I hope you all are having a great day!  Today I am posting my August cards of the month for Scrappy Jak.  This month I really wanted to use my Cricut for my cards, so I set it to 2" and cut out the lettering 'Back to School', and the apple is cut at 1 1/2".  The fishing pole is 3", and all were cut from the cartridge 'Celebrate with Flourish' (since that is the only cart I own for now).  I hope everyone enjoys checking these out.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!
